Peyton is FOUR going on 14!

Little miss princess Peyton turned 4 on November 10!  She's a bit of a diva lately and I think she's got a little bit of everything in her personality.  She can be sweet and sensitive, very emotional but also strong willed and tough.  She recently started her 1st year of pre-school at the Waukee YMCA program.  She's in the 3 yr old class (just missed the cut-off) and goes 2 days a week.  She loves it!  Her teachers tell us she's doing great and well behaved for the most part. This is good news, because she can be a little naughty at home!  Not a big fan of discipline and makes it hard to do when she laughs at it.  I have to admit, she takes it much better coming from dad, but what can I say.... I'm a softy! When we ask her who her friends are at school she rattles off all the BOYS names first.....hmmm... a sign of what's to come?!  :)

4 Year Stats:
Height: 4.0 inches - grew 1 inch
Weight: 37 lbs - gained 5 lbs

And a brief interview with Peyton straight from her mouth at 4:

  • Favorite Colors: "Purple and Pink"
  • Favorite Movie: "Fire Puppy" - Firehouse Dog
  • Favorite Song: "Justin Bieber" and Rhianna, shine bright like a diamond
  • Favorite Animal: "Pig"
  • Favorite thing to do: "Color and Paint"
  • Favorite Food: "Spaghetti"
  • Best Friend: "Clare"
  • Favorite Book: "God Prayer One" -- Children's story bible we read at bedtime
  • Favorite Toy: "Polly Pockets" - not actually polly pockets, little princess figurines with clip dresses
  • Favorite Place: "Gradmpa's house"
  • Who made you?: "God" -- she started Sunday School this fall and loves going to church

Logan is ONE | Milestone Stats

Our little man is not so little anymore.  Logan Paul turned ONE in August.  Unfortunately, for his party, he was sick with his first ear infection in both ears.  Poor little guy didn't have too much fun, but we partied on anyway!

Here's a little update on his stats.
August 2013
ONE year check-up
Height: 30.8" (76%)
Weight: 21 lb, 3 oz (24%)
Head: 47.5 cm (78%)
Peyton at 1: 31" (95%), 21 lb (49%), 46cm (75%) --pretty much the same

November 2013
15 month check-up
Height: 32" (75%)
Weight: 22 lb, 6 oz (21%)
Head: 47.8 cm (66%)
Peyton at 15 months: 32" (89%), 23 lb, 3 oz (55%), 46.5 cm (66%)

  • Logan LOVE's to climb up the stairs. Hasn't mastered going down yet, but has attempted a couple times.
  • Starts to bop his head and pump his hands in the air when music is one.  He might be a little dancer like his sister.
  • King of facial expressions.  He crinkles up his nose with every one.  He does an O the most.
  • Not saying a whole lot of words yet but like to say "Uh Oh!" a LOT!
  • He's a bottleless pit!  This kid loves to eat.  I'm pretty sure he would just keep eating if we kept giving him food.  He likes just about everything except noodles, which is Peyton's favorite!  He loves toast and anything bread related.
  • Still not walking or standing alone......(peyton did at 13 months).  He walks with toys or with us holding on and around all the furniture but hasn't shown any interest in doing it unassisted yet.

Catching Up: Logan Paul

Well, its the end of July now and our little man is 11 months old!!  We have a little catching up to do so here are his month by month shots since April along with his highlights for each month.  Enjoy!

April 2013 - 8 Months Old

  • Started flapping his arms up and down a lot when excited
  • Rolls his wrists and ankles in circles - just like Peyton did!
  • Plays peek-a-boo with his little blue blanket, covers his face and we say "Where's Logan?"

May 2013 - 9 Months Old
9 month check-up
Height: 29.3" (78%)
Weight: 19 lbs, 10 oz (33%)
Head: 46.3 cm (75%)
Peyton at 9 months: 28.5" (78%), 19 lb, 6 oz (58%), 45 cm (77%) --pretty darn close in comparison!!
  • Started scooting around on butt, but no real signs of crawling yet...
  • Reaches and grabs for everything
  • Tried some puffs and yogurt bites, had a real strong gag reflex
  • He was used to napping in the evening (6-9pm) then woke up, ate and back to bed.  We transitioned him out of his and made bedtime 7:30.  Working great, he still sleeps all night!

June 2013 - 10 Months Old
  • LOVES his baby food!
  • Getting the hang of water...for the longest time, every time he'd drink some, he'd throw it back up instantly.
  • Still scooting around on butt.  He kind of shifts his legs back and forth while seated that gets him a little farther and he pretty gets where ever he wants to, just not in a traditional crawl.
  • Giggles when we pull his socks off his feet! :)

July 2013 - 11 Months Old
  • Drum roll please............Little man started crawling!!  I, of course was out of town on a work trip when he did it so came home to a very mobile little guy!!
  • Along with crawling comes rug burned knees and tops of feet!
  • Eating more and more table food.  Like to suck on the 'Popsicle' with fruit inside like watermelon, pears or mandarin oranges.
  • Really like cheerios!

Can not believe this guy will be ONE in a couple weeks!!  Where did this past year go?!?!  We couldn't be more blessed!

Just Dance!

We have a little dancing diva!  We put Peyton in dance class this year at Dance Xtreme with my good friend "Miss Kasey" and she LOVES it!!  Her first dance recital was in June and just too too cute!!  There were two shows on Saturday and the whole crew came to watch.  Their song was "Hey Mickey," the Minnie Mouse version.  Overall the girls did great!  They all kind of watched the coaches on the side of the stage for their cues on what to do next.  Peyton was front and center the whole time even though half way through they were supposed to switch lines and go to the back.  :)

During the second show, Peyton provided the crowd with a little entertainment in true dance recital fashion. We had a wardrobe malfunction!  No, not the Janet Jackson kind, but she lost her mouse ears and just couldn't quite figure out what to do!!  Kyle called it a "Catastrophe!"  for those of you familiar with Gaspard and Lisa!   She kept trying to put them back on with no success and finally caught a glimpse of Miss Kasey signalling here to just throw them down!  So she did and kept on dancing......until sweet little Eleanor in her class picked them up and tried to give them back to her.  The whole crowd was laughing and it was super cute!

OH, and a couple days before recital she did face plant on the sidewalk at daycare so had a nice scab on her cheek for added effect!  Enjoy!

Logan's 6 Month Check Up

Somehow, half of a year has past us already and our little man is on his way to one.  I'm a little late in posting this, his 6 months was actually Feb 13.  Saw the doctor and once again, everything is just fine.  I have to laugh though, the nurse was going through a series of questions about things that Logan may be able to do.... It went a little something like this:
  • Is he sitting up? .............. NO
  • Is he rolling over? ............NO
  • Is he crawling?  ...............NO
  • Ok then, he's just a content little guy isn't he?............. Yep!
6 Months Stats:
Height: 27.5 in (79%)
Weight: 17 lbs (36%)
Head: 45 cm (79%)
Peyton at 6 months: 26.8 in (81%), 16 lbs, 3 oz (52%), 42.5 cm (49%)

Little bits about Logan:
  • He's pretty content!  He's not sitting by himself but can sit up with a little support around him so he's on his way!
  • No rolling yet.  When on his back, he does get to his side but that's about as far as he'll take it.  We don't do nearly enough tummy time time but he kind of does a superman pose when there in an attempt to flip.  Peyton never rolled either, not until she was 8 or 9 months old!
  • Loved his rice cereal.  We moved on to the baby food and overall, not too bad.  I swear the kid likes the vegetables better than the fruits.  We still get a good sour face when eating fruits.  I think his favorite is quash!
  • When he gets really tired he always puts his left hand up on his forehead over his eye like, "oh man, it's been a long day!"  it's really cute!
  • Fascinated by his sister!  She's so busy, and he tries to keep an eye on her everywhere she goes.  She can get him to laugh pretty good too.  (I'll post a video soon)
  • Getting more vocal and making new sounds.  Of course one of the more prominent noises he makes is "dadadadadadadada," so Kyle loves that.  I just repeat, "mamamamamama" as much as can!
  • This one's a drooler!  He got his two bottom teeth at 5 months and just gnaws on his fingers or anything he can get in his mouth.  He likes his paci too and sometimes will pull it out to chew on it from the side.
  • Starting to get the hang of his exersaucer.  He still leans a bit but likes to play for a little while at least.  He can reach one toe down to the floor.

Until next time...
