t|k and kiddos: August 2011

The Dirks crew went on our anual summer vaca the first week of August, this year to the Wisconsin Dells. (It was Tyson's idea.) The adults were a bit too old for it and little miss Peyton was bit too young for it, but we had a great time anyway! Peyton loves playing in the water and thought the little water slide was pretty sweet. They had one of those big buckets that filled up with water and then the bell rang and it dumped it all down onto the kids in the pool. P got so excited and scared all at the same time when the bells rang. We went and saw the Tommy Bartlett Boat show, kinda cool to see once. I didn't get a lot of photos from the trip but there are a few below. The weekend we got back was Nick's Bday and a couples golf tournamament in Reinbeck. Kyle and I and Nick and Kaleigh placed in one of the flights, so that was fun. I think I played better than Kyle that day, haha!

Peyton and I recently took a road trip up to MN to see my family and made it to the "Great MN Get Together" (state fair) with Grammy Pammy and Auntie Stephy. It was a bit difficult with an almost two year old at first, then we found the ice cream and of course that made it all better. We saw the little baby cows, and chicks and piggies! I think she liked the cows the best. I wanted to take her on the giant slide but didn't make it there. We only lasted a couple of hours and was ready to go home.

Kyle and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary on the 12th. I can't belive its been that long! We didn't do anything too special but did get out and saw a movie......in the theatre. We never get to go to movies so that was nice. Thanks to Shelley for hanging out with Peyton while we went. Kyle kept telling me we were going to plan a vacation/honeymoon style trip for our anniversary in the spring.......... but now we kind of have a new venture. I'll update you all on that next time.......
