Logan's 4 Month Check Up and Baptism

Little man is growing up WAY TOO FAST!!!  He is 4 months old as of  Dec 13th, now pushing 5 months but wanted to update his 4 month doctor visit. His growth and development are great and nothing too exciting to report except that we got the go ahead to start rice cereal!  It doesn't quite seem time for that already!!  My little baby isn't so little anymore....

4 Month Stats:
Height: 25.5 in (69%)
Weight: 14lbs, 6 oz (36%)
Head: 43 cm (67%)
Peyton at 4 months: 25 in, 13lbs 6oz, 40.5cm

Little bits about Logan:
  • LOVES his fist, fingers, hands!  Any and all that he can get in his mouth, the better!  He gnaws on those fists so much his poor little skin is raw.  We have to lotion them up every once and a while and put mittens on him when he goes to bed to heel them.
  • Giggles more and more.  Pretty much any silly face and sound affects in  the "traditional adult trying to get a baby to laugh" kind of way works, but I think his favorite is when he is laying down and I pull him up by his arms and up onto my chest.  He chuckles every time like its a fun ride.  We'll have to get a video sometime.
  • We got the bumbo out and he sits in it OK.  He leans a bit still but getting better.  His chubby little legs barely fit in it though!  I remember Peyton's didn't either that great, but she fits in it better now than he does with her skinny little legs.
  • Likes to grab and play with toys.  He got a "Sophie the Giraffe" from Tyson and Shannon and he loves it.
  • Gma and Gpa Dirks got him an exersaucer for Christmas that looks super fun!  He doesn't sit up all that great in it yet but, like the bumbo, does pretty good for a few minutes.
  • Not that great at tummy time... we need to work on that one a bit more.  When on his back, he half rolls onto his side sometimes but  that's as far as he's gotten so far.
  • He's starting to move around in his crib at night.  I find him down in the lower corner each morning, just like his sister.  Maybe the crib leans that way... haha.
Here are some photos I took for his 3/4 month photo shoot!  Enjoy!

On Sunday, December 2, we baptized Logan Paul at Lutheran Church of Hope.  Both the Williams and Dirks, along with the Ubben's and Downey's all came to celebrate with us.  Auntie Stephy and Uncle Nick and Tyson stood up as sponsors just as they did for Peyton.  He fell asleep just before the baptism and only woke briefly when the water touched his head and back to sleep he went.  God bless our little Logan!

Until next time...

Pink Princess Party - Peyton Mae is 3!

Every time I asked Peyton what kind of birthday party she wanted, her answer was always, "a PINK one!"  So, a pink one she got!

It's hard to believe that our little girl is already 3!  It still feels like yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital or she was crawling etc... People always say this, but time really does fly by!  We had a party for Princess Peyton on Saturday with family and she was completely spoiled!  I'm not sure what's left to get her for Christmas because I'm pretty sure she has just about everything she could ever want!  Presents included an Leap Pad 2 from mom and dad, Leap pad game and headphones and Justin Bieber poster from Uncle Tyson and Shannon, an iPod from Uncle Nick and Kaleigh (to play games and YouTube instead of using our phones), Cinderella movie, dress, shoes and accessories from Gma & Gpa Williams, Barbie Princess Popstar doll and guitar from Auntie Stephy, Ugg boots and Iowa cheerleader dress from Gma and Gpa Dirks.  Bible song cd set from Great Gma Ubben, and a doctor kit from the Downey's.  Opening presents was kind of a blur, she ripped them all open so fast, we really had no idea who got her what at the time!!

Peyton has really developed into her personality and interests lately.  This one's definitely a girly girl!!  She loves anything to do with singing and dancing, she has a microphone in her hand most of the time!  Needless to say, we don't lack any entertainment on a nightly basis!

3 Year Stats:
Height: 39.3 in (92%) - grew 3 inches in a year
Weight: 31 lbs, 13 oz (62%)

And some fun things about Peyton and what she's into now:
  • Loves music and videos - this started at daycare, Martina has the radio on during the day and the girls just really got into it.  Peyton likes to get on YouTube and watch videos of her favorite songs.
  • Favorite songs: She'll ask us to turn up the music in the car when she can't hear it!
    • Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe (or Peyton's version: Carly Baby)
    • Taylor Swift: Never Ever
    • Justin Bieber - As long as you love me
    • Barbie Popstar - Here I am
    • Owl City - Good Time
  • Favorite Movie - Barbie Princess Popstar
  • Loves to dance - She started dance class a few weeks ago that is every Monday.  Every night I pick her up from daycare, she asks if she's going to dance class tonight!  She also watches "Just Dance" videos on YouTube and will try to mimic the moves, it's hilarious!!
  • Pretty dresses - She loves to dress up and has a few "pretty dresses" that she puts on to do her singing and dancing.  Pretty dresses include pink ballet dress with tutu, show white dress and now a Cinderella dress.
  • Shoes - She's a bit of a shoes snob and will tell you exactly which pair she wants to wear or in some cases NOT wear!  When I get her a new pair, I have to make a really big deal about how cool or pretty they are or how I have a pair just like them etc.. to get her to try them on.  Her favorite right now are you silver sparkly Toms.  She actually pretty obsessed with new socks right now too, anything new she wants to wear immediately and all the time.
  • Quotes:
    • "What you think about that?"
    • "last morning" - everything is last morning as in, I saw it there last morning or I did that last morning.
    • "Come here, I show you something"
    • "This is no fun!"
    • "Fun Hater" - that's a new one from last weekend.....hmm...who taught her that one?!
  • Still loves her blanky and pink puppy, babies, stickers and bracelets!

Logan's 2 Month Check-Up

Our little man is 2 months old already!!  Wow has time flown by!  He had his 2 month check up yesterday and doc says he's doing great!  He got his first round of multiple shots and as you can imagine was not a huge fan!  It was however, a little easier on us after going through it with Peyton.  No tears from mom or dad and L man only cried for a a minute or so... then passed out for a super long nap!

2 Month Stats:
Height: 23.5 in (69%)
Weight: 11 lbs, 13 oz (51%)
Head: 40.5 in (60%)
Peyton at 2 months: Height 23 in, Weight 11 lbs,  Head 38.5

I thought for sure he was going to top the charts with his weight, he just seems to eat a ton and has gotten so big, but I guess he's pretty average for being a boy etc...  I'm not sure all the factors that go into the percentile figuring but I'll take it.  Compared to his 2 week check, his weight was by far the biggest jump packing on 4 lbs.  Doc told him he could go ahead and keep "porking" out if he wanted!  haha!

As a 2 month old, the milestones are pretty basic still.  He's smiling more and more everyday and tracks our faces and objects as we pass by him.  One milestone we are still anxiously waiting on is sleeping through the night.  The little guy just hasn't figured that one out quite yet.  He's eating 4 oz every 2 hours during the day so we're going to try and drag that out a bit more so he's eating less often.  A two month old should typically be eating 24-30 oz in a day and we've figured out that he's been taking closer to 36oz a day.  Hopefully if we can get on a better feeding schedule during the day he might make it a bit longer overnight!  Say a little prayer for us, cause mama has to go back to work in 11 days!!

Here are some pics of Logan at 2 months.  Enjoy!

Princesses, Pumpkins and Pirrouette's

Okay, so maybe we're not quite to Pirouettes but it's official, I'm a dance mom!  Little miss Peyton has started dance class.  My friend Kasey has a studio in Bondurant, which is a little bit of a drive for us, but Peyton LOVES to dance!  So far, she is loving class and talks about "Miss Kasey" all the time!  I even caught her teaching her baby's to do somersaults and instructing them to follow miss Kasey!  Way too cute!  I can't wait for her first recital!
{miss sassy pants}
A few weeks ago we decided to take Peyton to Valley West Mall for family night   They bring in a ton of inflatable slides etc... have face painting and on that night princesses!  I have never seen such chaos, kids running and screaming everywhere but it was a lot of fun!  We had to wait in line for each activity and of course Peyton was not a fan of that but they weren't too bad.  They looked a lot longer than they actually were just because all the parents were standing there too.  She had a blast and did everything we could except for the face painting because that did take too long.  One of the highlights was Snow White and Sleeping Beauty.  Peyton got her picture taken with each of them but wouldn't really talk to them much.  These princesses were serious too, in full character with the voice and everything.

I can't believe its October and almost Halloween already!  We've visited two pumpkin patches, one here in Des Moines and one up in MN when we visited by family.  Unfortunately, we didn't even buy a big pumpkin yet!  All Peyton wanted was the little pumpkins so we have three baby one's sitting on our step now.  We did get the kiddo's their costumes but I'll wait to post those later!  Here are a few pics.

Peyton and Friends

Peyton tells us she has friends.  It's fun to hear how her mind works when it comes to interacting with other kids.  Clare at daycare is by far her BFF!  She is Martina's (daycare provided) daughter and they get along and play great together.  We're told they are attached at the hip and Peyton talks about her all the time.  Unfortunately I don't have any pics of the two of them, I'll have to work on that!  Over the past couple of weeks we've gone to see some other friends.  She likes to play with her second cousin Jada when we go back to Reinbeck and they always have a blast.  We also had a play date with my friend Mollie and her two girls Quinn and Bellamy. Here are a few pics of Peyton and friends.
