HOT HOT HOT Summer!

100 degree summer, Pregnant, Outdoor Weddings................. All of these things don't add up well but we've had a blast!  Warning, this will be a long one with mostly photos, enjoy!

Back in June we made a trip to Texas for Nissy and Chris' wedding.  This was Peyton's first airplane ride and she loved it!!  We stayed at Auntie Sassy's house and did a lot of swimming the first two days.  Peyton still talks about Sassy's pool just about everyday.  We then headed to Wimberly, TX for the wedding.  It was at a gorgeous ranch and a ton of fun!!  Peyton was loving all the playtime with her second cousin Boston and baby Elise!  Here are a bunch of photos from that trip.

Last weekend we went to our second outdoor wedding of the summer and the heat did not break, however it did cloud up a bit so we didn't have the added blazing sun!  A good friend of the Dirks boys, Travis Schulz got married and if you know the Schulz, it was absolutely beautiful and held at the Salisbury House here in Des Moines.  We got a few pic and Peyton is proving to be one little dancing queen at weddings!

{after 5 or 6 attempts, we got a couple decent shots...}
{the flash was so bright!}

To avoid being cooped up in the house all summer because it's too hot to go outside, we got a little blow up pool for the backyard.  We've pretty much been living in it, and I have to say, I got it big enough so I could enjoy it too!  haha!  Peyton loves the water and to swim.  She changes into her swim suit (or "fwim put," in her words) at least 10 times a day!  Gma Sheryl got her a little floaty and some pool toys so we've had some fun!

{Squirt gun fight!}

I'll leave you with a quick video.  This is Peyton's idea of going under water....not quite but has the right idea...  She also says, "you wanna see me do a prize?"  Pretty much her trick but calls it a prize.  Too fun!

Until next time...

Little Man's Room

In one month, little man will make is big debut and his room is pretty much ready.  We kept it pretty plain and simple, much like Peyton's room was and swapped out all the pink for blue.  We still need to hang a couple things on the wall, but this is pretty much it. One thing I did and do want to do, is re-paint the walls to a grey color.....but didn't make Kyle do it yet.

Oh - and by the way, if you didn't already know, little man's name will be................ Logan Paul

Baby #2, 33 Weeks

Okay, looking back it's been 13 weeks since my last bump update!  I really did have good intentions to a least have a few more in there, but it just gets so hard with work and the tournament and then summer in general!  And, since I was so out of practice I forgot to actually hold the chalkboard in the pic so had to rig up a side-by-side.  I'm blaming it on pregnancy brain!

How far along? 33 weeks.... as of July 1, today is 34 wks, 1 day
Baby is the size of: a Pineapple, aprox 4 lbs and 17 inches
Latest developments: He's got toenails, fingernails and real hair (or at least peach fuzz) and is rapidly losing the wrinkled look and prepping for his big debut
Gender: still a Boy
Total weight gain: up 18lbs
Sleep: getting a bit more difficult to get or stay comfy, been taking little cat naps early evening and then up later at night
Food cravings: nothing really sounds that great except Panera lately.  Their strawberry poppy seed chicken salad is to die for and their napa almond chicken salad sandwich!  Yum!!  Other than that, a LOT of cereal!  Oh, and I did bring back the s'more kick on the 4th of July!  That was my big thing with Peyton.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy but maybe a little moody here and there..... ;)
Looking forward to: wearing normal clothes again!  I only have a few weeks left so don't want to buy anything and its been so hot lately, I've been wearing my normal sun dresses, but... this belly is getting too big, making them too short!

Our next prenatal visit is July 13 at 34 weeks. Until next time...
